Octagonal Forecourt Pool Fountain with a Pinecone Finial

A compact fountain set in an octagonal pool, photographed on the entrance axis of a house so its scale is easy to judge. A moulded pedestal carries a shallow bowl with a gadrooned underside and a carved pinecone finial rising from its centre, the water held still and shallow around it. The pool wall is cut in pale limestone with a plain wide coping and no carving, so the piece stays quiet against the building behind. Suited to entrance forecourts, courtyards, poolside settings and Mediterranean style landscapes.
