APF 302 Lion Mask Pool Fountain with a Fluted Basin

A wide circular pool fountain whose basin carries the carving rather than the centrepiece. Tall fluted arcading runs the full circumference, broken by lion mask keystones, and the whole wall sits on a bold moulded base course. At the centre a gadrooned tazza spreads over an acanthus carved baluster stem. The limestone has taken up rust and cream mineral staining and the edges have gone soft in the way only long weathering achieves. A commanding, low and generous piece for poolside terraces, courtyards and Mediterranean style landscapes.
